NEW Rendang Sauce

We have redeveloped our Rendang sauce as a new product that is easier to use and as close as possible to our signature in-house dish. Designed as a “ready to use” sauce rather than a “base”, the product is ready to eat straight out of the packet. All that you need to add for a full Malaya experience is add your choice of protein or vegetables.

Please note: To capture the freshness of aromatic spices and intensity of flavours, this product is best consumed within 2 months of purchase.

Chicken Rendang

This recipe is quick, easy and delicious – the perfect dinner solution after a busy day.

Ingredients: Serves 4

  • 1 packet of The Malaya Rendang Sauce (450g)
  • 600 – 800g Chicken thigh fillet
  • Steamed jasmine rice

Method:

  1. Slice thigh fillets into 4 – 6 pieces each.
  2. Heat Rendang sauce over medium heat and add chicken.
  3. Continue to cook over medium heat, stirring to avoid burning until the chicken releases its juices.
  4. The dish is ready as soon as the chicken is cooked.
  5. Serve with steamed jasmine rice.

Beef Rendang

This recipe is quick, easy and delicious – the perfect dinner solution after a busy day.

Ingredients: Serves 4

  • 1 packet of The Malaya Rendang Sauce (450g)
  • 600 – 800g Beef chuck
  • Steamed jasmine rice

Method:

  1. Cut beef chuck into 4cm cubes and brown in a frying pan.
  2. Transfer to a saucepan or small pot and add rendang sauce, plus an additional packet’s worth of water or stock (45oml).
  3. Bring to a boil, then turn down to a simmer
  4. Cook uncovered for approximately 2 hours, stirring occasionally until beef is tender and sauce has reduced.
  5. Serve with steamed jasmine rice.
